We collaborate with schools in the area, families and support services in Wolverhampton on a very close basis. We get in touch with CAMHS, Social Care, and Virtual School teams at every step, from referrals to transition planning, in order to jointly provide each student with seamless support and thus enable the learners to confidently continue their education, training, or employment.

A typical day at Kingsley Academy runs from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Students receive a personalised timetable based on their chosen vocational area and individual needs. Some learners travel by arranged taxi, while others attend independently with parental consent.
The day includes practical learning sessions, group activities and dedicated support. Students take a morning break and a lunch break, with access to the student lounge, refreshments and the outdoor area. Alongside vocational learning, learners participate in group PSHE sessions that support wellbeing, communication, and personal development.

This route supports learners who benefit from movement, practical activities and hands-on experiences. Learning focuses on real-world problem-solving, teamwork, and confidence-building. It helps students who find traditional classroom learning challenging to stay engaged and develop independence.

The Discovery route follows a broad academic curriculum based on national standards. Students study core subjects alongside vocational learning, building strong academic foundations while exploring personal interests and developing practical skills.

Our governing body plays an important role in guiding the academy’s direction. Governors support and challenge the leadership team, helping ensure high standards, strong safeguarding practices and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
