SEND Provisions

Learn how our SEND provisions work day to day, including assessment, planning, support strategies and reviews that help learners progress with confidence.

How SEND Support Is Planned and Delivered

At Kingsley Academy, SEND provision begins with understanding each learner’s needs, strengths and goals. Information from EHCPs, schools, families and professionals helps us build a clear picture before support begins. We then create a structured plan that outlines learning targets, strategies and support approaches.

Teaching is adapted to ensure students can access learning comfortably, and staff closely monitor progress. Provision is flexible, meaning strategies can change if something isn’t working. Our aim is always to remove barriers, build confidence and help learners experience success in education again.

Key Areas of Support

Support Systems in Place

Assessment and Planning

Support begins with a clear understanding of needs, using professional reports, EHCP outcomes and discussions with families and previous schools.

Adapted Teaching Methods

Lessons are structured in small steps with clear instructions so learners can understand, engage and succeed without feeling overwhelmed.

Ongoing Monitoring

Staff regularly review progress, wellbeing and engagement so support can be adjusted quickly when needed.

Specialist Collaboration

We work alongside external professionals and services to ensure students receive consistent and joined-up support.

Reviews and Adjustments

Support is reviewed regularly to make sure it continues to match each learner’s development. Meetings with families, schools and professionals help us understand progress, discuss challenges and agree next steps together. This keeps provision responsive rather than fixed.

Review Meetings

Planned discussions to check progress, targets and support strategies.

Support Adjustments

Changes made when learners need more challenge or additional help.

Staff Development

Continuous training keeps staff skilled in SEND support approaches.
